About Us
Pearl & Dean came into being in the UK in 1953 when the company was formed to develop the then-significant advertising medium of the Cinema Screen. In the 1960’s the company expanded its operations internationally with offices established in Africa, the Asia/Pacific region and the Caribbean where branches were opened in Trinidad, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Barbados, and Guyana.
The company diversified and began developing other out-of-home media, notably outdoor, and the relatively new medium of airport advertising. Today Pearl & Dean companies hold advertising sales concessions at major international airports in the US, the UK and the Far East.
The Caribbean operation was bought in 1974 from the parent company and operations throughout the area was centralised in Trinidad. Since that time Pearl & Dean (Caribbean) Ltd has been the leader in airport advertising in the region with placements in Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia, Jamaica, St. Maarten, Antigua, The Bahamas, Aruba, Bonaire, Belize (on the mainland) and St. Thomas, USVI.
The company has also pioneered up-market outdoor advertising in the Caribbean with the introduction of Prismavision and Prismaflex units and daylight digital screens in high-visibility areas. Where warranted, environmentally sensitive systems are provided including purpose-built signage located in public areas that are maintained as beauty spots. Other opportunities such as the provision of clocks in airport terminals and town centres have been successfully introduced. In islands where outdoor advertising is restricted, these strategies are particularly effective in getting the advertising message across.
